About This Study
Aetherus Wound & Lymphatics is participating in a Phase II clinical research study sponsored by Merakris Therapeutics evaluating an investigational therapy for individuals living with chronic venous leg ulcers.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether the investigational treatment, when used alongside standard wound care, can safely improve wound healing while also evaluating changes in pain and quality of life.

What Is a Venous Leg Ulcer?
Venous leg ulcers are wounds that develop when the veins in the legs cannot efficiently return blood back to the heart.
This condition—known as chronic venous insufficiency—can lead to increased pressure in the legs, causing skin damage and slow-healing wounds.
Common symptoms include:
Lower leg wounds
Swelling
Pain or soreness
Skin discoloration
Drainage
Itching or burning
These wounds often persist for months and can significantly affect quality of life.
Who May Qualify?

You may be eligible if you:

Are between 18 and 90 years old.

Have a venous leg ulcer that has not improved after at least four weeks of standard care.

Have an ulcer that meets the study size and duration requirements.

Have adequate blood flow in the affected leg.

Are willing to attend study visits.

Can provide informed consent.

Additional eligibility criteria apply, and the research team will determine whether the study is appropriate for you.
What Participation Includes
Participants may receive:
Standard wound care
Weekly clinic visits
Wound photography and measurements
Quality-of-life questionnaires
Evaluation by the research team
Study-related treatment according to the research protocol
Depending on study assignment, participants may receive the investigational product or an inactive comparator. Neither participants nor investigators know which treatment is assigned during the study to help ensure unbiased results.
